Fun and Games / Let's play a game...
« on: July 16, 2017, 09:53:22 AM »
I'm headed for DEFCON, the hackers conference, in Las Vegas next week, and while there will be all sorts of hacking going on, most people don't realize it's 90% contests and games! In fact, most of what you see posted online about DEFCON is the talks; i.e., the 10% that is NOT contests and games. So that got me thinking: This forum needs some WFF-type fun and games. That's why I added a new category.

And I'm adding its first game...but since it's in the attachments, you have to login to see it. Start with GameWhy, then read 1, 2, and 3.

Have fun!

Actually, this happens EVERY year on March 3rd.

The WFFCC hosts a subscriber pool to the Nu Insight pricing service (Disclaimer: Yes, that's my baby!) Instead of the usual $100 annual subscription, WFFCC members may join the pool for a donation of $10 or more. You may donate via PayPal here:

http://www.neu-insight.com/wff/renew/

If you've never subscribed before, you may register here:

http://www.neu-insight.com/wff/pricing/

The catch, of course, is that this subscription runs from March 3rd to March 3rd, so if you want the most out of the service, it's best not to wait until March 3rd (or later) to join. Once you're in the pool, you can renew any time and I'll just push your expiration out another year.

If you're wondering if the service is worth $10, consider this: I process an average of 3000+ prices every month, and if you think you can do that for less than $1, send me a note and I'll hire you. Heck, I'll make it an even dollar for the month! ;-) But seriously, there is no other service out there that provides WFF pricing data as current as Nu Insight's.

Apparently spammers just love this forum because I routinely get 3 or 4 registration requests daily from them. For this reason, I switched the registration process from 'automatic authorization via email response' to 'approval by admin' (mainly me). Luckily, a lot of spammers don't look like mousers online, so it's not difficult to screen them out. Besides, the first time they spam, I cast them out along with all their posts.

So, if you're planning to join this forum,

1. Expect to wait a day or so for me to approve your account. Consider the delay your contribution to keeping spam off this forum. I'll do my best to approve your account quickly, but occasionally I'm incommunicado.
2. Please look like a mouser and not a spammer (If you're a mouser, you probably don't know what I mean, but just look like yourself. Don't try to be a wiseguy and impersonate a spammer unless you really enjoy being turned away at the door--the forum software makes it really easy to bunt spammers into the weeds.)
3. Spam once and you're out the door.

If I cast you out by mistake, please send me an email. You can find my address all over the WFFCC Website. My apologies in advance.
